I painted this work 32 years ago. Years before some protesting today about how horrible this country is we’re even born.

It’s all about nationalism...

Decades after capitalism seemed to have triumphed over socialism, politicians are once again arguing about the merits and drawbacks of these opposing economic systems.

Why are we still having these debates?

Why are there so many good people amongst us that hate this country?

Why are so many demanding change - and demanding it now? And what kind of change? No one seems to have an idea of what the solution is...”change.”

I believe there is a lot that needs to be changed. This democracy is a work in progress and an never ending experiment.

A systemic issue is the thought or ida that Nationalism is bad or evil.
